The celebration of the Argentine Flag could not be missed in Costa d’Oneglia, since its creator, General Manuel Belgrano, hero of Argentine Independence, has his roots in this small town in the Ligurian hinterland.
Belgrano used the blue and white flag for the first time in Rosario, a city twinned with the Municipality of Imperia, with which there is still an intense and passionate bond.
This festival has joined the White Night over the years, becoming an unmissable event. The streets of the village are filled with a contagious atmosphere, with engaging shows, craft stalls, music, tango and outdoor dinners that recall the true flavor of village festivals.
The event takes place every first Saturday in July (or the last Saturday in June, depending on how it falls), also involving political and cultural personalities and the consul of Argentina to pay homage to the flag with the Sol de Mayo in the center.
The Argentine Flag Festival kicks off the evening, while artists, artisans, musicians, “tangeros” and cooks contribute to creating an unforgettable atmosphere until late at night.
The show takes place in the squares and winds through the long medieval alley of the historic center of the enchanting hamlet of Costa, surrounded by centuries-old olive groves.

How to get there
Costa d'Oneglia is located just 3.6 km from Imperia and 2 km from the Imperia Est motorway exit. It is therefore easily accessible by car or, better, motorbike (about 10 min.) following Via Felice Musso. During the event there are free shuttles from the center of Imperia (precisely from Largo Nanolo Piana, Oneglia bus terminus). The use of the shuttle is recommended (there is little availability of parking in the village).
